By way of explanation, we started seeds February 15 and transplanted the tomatoes March 1. Our peppers are about a week behind in size but are doing nicely. Expect transplanting in a couple days.

We use chick grit (the white stuff on the surface) to prevent damping off at the soil line. Some onion sets and radish seeds will be placed out in one of our raised beds this weekend.

I am so lazy I start my tomato seeds in tall cottage cheese containers with a few holes punched in the bottom for drainage. Filled with commercial seed starter mix. I carefully place 3 seeds in each one spaced out. I leave them in there until I stick them in the garden. Easy to pull part and good root growth.
