Most diabetics are simply people who overwhelmed their pancreas with carbs (and why they're fat). Therefore the non-medical cure for diabetes is a ketogenic diet (extremely low carb diet). For them, ketogenic diets result in weight loss.
BTW- some of us are not fat but get diabetes anyway. Our bodies have an abnormally low tolerance for carbs. The cure is the same, a ketogenic diet. No weight will be lost but the result of normalized insulin production is the same.
