I lived there for years and finally fled because I was tired of being the lone White guy. Im not exaggerating. Id go for days without seeing anyone White. Signs in spanish, women pushing baby carriages with 8 kids, 4 foot tall guys with cowboy hats and accordion/tuba music blaring 24 hours. Too vibrant for me. Had trouble sleeping because the police helicopters flew above all hours of the night.
There’s a lot more neighborhoods fitting that description now. And that 1986 amnesty had a lot to do with it.
