This movie was found with the help of AW (fact unknown to her) "American Hollow", due to the fact it provides insights on surviving a life which was seen by those living before us. Included are reminiscences of all types from a family that managed to survive the hard times as well as the good.
"AMERICAN HALLOW"
- This film tells the tale of a close-knit Appalachian family that has changed little in the last 100 years. (1990)

Sorry to not respond sooner, I did start watching it on my phone.

I’m still having trouble with my arm so I am trying to use them as little as possible. I really want to watch the movie on my tablet but it can get kind of heavy. And the phone is just too small.

So I’ll save it for a rainy day. A good rainy day, when my arms feel better :-)

i’m an idiot. I have to admit it. Every time I feel better I go and do something. It’s just so hard to feel good and not go out and take care of my babies in the garden or the furry ones inside. I’ve let the house go to hell, dust and dust bunnies and stuff on the floor, windows dirty, it’ll take me months and months to get it back to normal. Even with the dirty windows, birds are still hitting the windows :-(

Speaking of surviving in Appalachia, when I was in 7th grade we were given a book to read Where the Lilies Bloom. Not sure how accurate but if my foggy memory recalls there were quite a few references to food and herb gathering.
