Well in Alaska, you need a semi Auto rifle because the Griz attack at 35 mph. In brush if you miss your bolt action shot, you just might have bought the farm. So when I went Caribou hunting, I used a semi Auto .308

Camped over night, had to keep the fire going all night because if you don’t, you end up Griz scat. Griz tracks every where, they are hunting the Caribou just like you.

Do you REALLY want to take a bolt action out there?

Lost a couple of pets to wolf packs in town. Yeah, wolf packs. Yes, I carry a spare clip or two, cause sometimes the packs hunt people.

You REALLY want a single action pistol walking your dog at dusk?

I understand when you’re in the bears’ hunting and feeding ground.

I have a single action Heritage .22 single action with a safety. To fire that gun I have to cook the hammer, take the safety off and pull the trigger. Counting the trigger that’s 3 moves I have to make to kill someone.

I also have a Heritage ,22 semi-automatic rifle. But I wouldn’t take either of them bear hunting
