Have you ever seen Glee? It shows the evolution of drama clubs into gay clubs - with heroic abandon! Even when I did the school shows, we had gay boys. They were closeted because it was not considered something to either celebrate or talk about.
Way back, before the flood, when I was in high school, if there were any homosexual boys in the drama club, nobody knew.
OTOH...oh hell yes, in college, they were there and we knew who they were.
By this time, I'm very far removed from all of that; however, the school my grand goes to ( okay, so it's a private day school, but I doubt that that matters in this case )has a fantastic drama department and they do NOT do/promote queer crap.
All I said was that it isn't "everywhere"; is all. ;^)
