I've seen "Red October" explained as some kind of cyber operataion of something, I forget.

I still think it is referring to taking in bad guy assets from out of the cold, like in the book, and even more so this so called "missing" sub. I think we have been hunting this sub for quite some time now and they may have sighted it off Florida.

I know absolutely nothing about subs except from what I have read in Tom Clancy novels. But how long would it take a sub to travel from Hawaii to Florida. I'm sure it wouldn't use the Panama canal for obvious reasons. It would have to go the long way around, right?

Of course, there could also be more than one sub. And not necessarily some "missing" Argentina sub. I would think they would have shitty subs and we could locate it and kill it very easily. But what do I know.
