Wait - so you don’t believe them when they say that this area with known volcanic activity is less stable than, say the Canadian Shield? (I’m guessing they are getting a jump on getting their grant renewed in the fall.)
“Hey Jim - look at this. The temperature of the geyser pool is over 100 degrees warmer than Lake Superior!”
I probably shouldn’t give them any ideas for a new paper. “Positive correlations in surface water temperatures related to increased tourist activity increasing risk of global warming and catastrophic eruption” Hmm - ever notice how when the number of tourists at Yellowstone goes up - the air temperature goes up too!?
