Then maybe it’s closer to model T tech than I thought. I AM pretty ignorant of such things though I do read a fair amount.

Actually Model T tech is more advanced, because unlike the more or less fictional EM drive, the propulsion in a model T, an internal combustion engine, actually works. It works so well that that is why we use it for automotive transportation to this very day. There would be technological advantages to electric propulsion IF we can find cheap, safe and effective battery technologies for long haul travel. But that is not going to violate known laws of physics and chemistry. It “merely” requires someone to develop much more effective batteries than we have today. As to the possibility I take no stand since it would not violate any law of physics.
