Michael Smith is still a “SportsCenter” host … for now. The ESPN personality may not last much longer in that role after he blasted the company for its mishandling of the program. Specifically, Smith is upset about ESPN trying to alter how he and former co-anchor Jemele Hill believed their version of “SportsCenter” should run.

Like Will Smith over the Oscar he felt he deserved, Jamel and Michael Smith over their show on espn and Shani Davis with his insistence that it was his right to carry the U.S flag during the olympics opening ceremony.
They think that we think they are being ‘uppity black’ people, when in reality they truly don’t know what obnoxious self righteous asshats who can’t stop thinking ‘it’s all about’ them.
These are high achievers who cannot accept their advancement is the result of their skills. They honestly believe they achieved success by virtue of whitey’s guilt and they demand more of it.
These two haters were hosting SportsCenter - apparently the irony is lost on them. If they want to be Black Nationalists, then fine, go help some black people. It only engenders more hate when instead, they do nothing but call white folks aholes.
Who cuts the checks Mikey? Start your own network and run it as you please. Hard concept for the modern workforce I know.

The problem with many ‘african-americans’ is that they’re neither.
Seems like the name “SportsCenter” was too complicated for them. Someone should have broken it down and explained the purpose of the show
SportsCenter ===> Sports Center
sports ===> competitive games (many definitions will work)
center ===> the middle of something (in this case SPORTS)
AlSharptonsHateWhiteyCenter is probably on MSNBC. Smith’s agent should get in contact. Nobody will need to explain the title or purpose of the show and Smith can just rant and not need to worry about facts like sport scores. And neither viewer is likely turn the show off because of the rants so his employer won’t lose any money because of him.

Ye. We care. It's worthy of discussion. It's part of our culture that we are witnessing go right down the crapper and ignoring it accomplishes nothing. I could, however, easily do without the frequent cookie cutter comments like yours.

It appears you have set yourself up as the one who decides whose comments are “cookie cutter”. He expressed his opinion...he does not have to clear it though you!!!

Michael Smith is another Boston area liberal writer who happened to cover the sports beat for the Globe. From there he moved to ESPN and has been steadily promoted from the website to on-air to anchor spots. The guy has no background as an athlete so far as I know. Neither does Jemelle Hill.
