1. He hates obsessive, unnecessary, UnConstitutional etc. secrecy and snooping. So do I.
2. He did something very risky about it. That took guts, balls, courage, or stupidity. I think it took guts and patriotism.
3. He's offered fitting, useful, patriotic commentary from time to time.
4. Any harm to our assets I believe he did his best to prevent or minimize. And I think the super ordinate priorities of NO to unnecessary secrecy and massive snooping are much higher priorities than lesser ones.
Speculation is/was Snowden was CIA, went to work for NSA to unveil them in effort to shut them down because they were also spying on CIA. Somehow with his passport revoked he flew to Hong Kong and then Russia. I have no opinion, however Q has mentioned him several times.

I tend to agree with you. It seems Snowden’s target audience in revealing what he revealed was the American people. This portrays him as a patriot.
