The odds of anyone surviving a jump from 10,000+ feet in pitch black over a heavy forest at the cruising speed of a 727 is very slim.

If I remember right the plane was flying through a storm at the time as well.

Then there is the fact that some of the money was found a few year ago which leads me to believe that D B Cooper died in the fall from the plane.
