I was an assistant coach at Maryville College in 1978-1984...

We played UCF in the old Tangerine Bowl Stadium in Orlando in 1979...

We had 189 yards in penalties called against us and lost 10-7...

We ended up 8-2 and that game cost us a shot at the DIVIII playoffs...

My HS team lost the CIF Championship based on a penalty in OT to Pat Haden's Bishop Amat.

Horrible call and we were distraught. After the game coach said one thing to us:

'Only losers complain about bad calls and we are not losers. Yes, we lost today, but each and everyone of you guys are winners and I expect you all to act as winners.'
