I did watch the last few minutes of the Saints-Panthers game, but I did it through YouTube with someone who was streaming the game, by videoing the game from his TV, LOL!

As has been endlessly surmised, the decline in NFL ratings is due to two primary factors: (a) poor product; and (b) anti-American actors. In this kind of dynamic, if the entertainment quality can be elevated, then antipathy towards the players may be somewhat ameliorated; not entirely, but enough to perhaps draw in some viewers.

So, when I came across a news flash that the Titans had pulled within a TD, I went ahead and turned on the tube. As many know, the final 10 minutes were classic football, the type of situation that literally created the NFL back in '58. After both the failed TD return off the 2 point attempt, and then the failed fumble which was also run back, the KC crowd was going nuts. (Along with the announcers cracking voice.)

Same thing happened yesterday with the NO game. Was going about my business when I saw an item that mentioned the game had tightened up. Once again, turned on the TV in time to watch a thoroughly engrossing final 10 minutes.

In these kinds of situations, I'm the furthest person from caring about 'muh team'. Rather, I enjoy a good game, and can (temporarily) check my disdain for the players. I also keep the sound muted during commercials, and make a mental note not to patronize any of the advertisers. In my mind, I'm using the NFL, rather than the league using me.
