Wrong “T” kiddo.

If I am not mistaken, Davis’ first wife was the daughter of Zac Taylor, not John Tyler.

Yes, Jefferson Davis was married in 1835 to Sarah Taylor, and she died 4 months later in MS of malaria. Davis remarried in 1844 to Varina Howell (grand-daughter of NJ governor Howell). David later raised a regiment in MS to fight in the Mexican War again under his former commanding officer, and father in law, Zachary Taylor. They were close, both loving Sarah Taylor as father to daughter and husband to wife. Her death devastated him, and his malaria flared up and plagued him the rest of his life.
