> Robert E Lee and Davy Crockett <
I visited the San Jacinto Battlefield last year where Santa Anna was defeated. In the museum I was most impressed by Davy Crockett’s knife, the one he used at the Alamo after he ran out of ammunition. Davy Crockett’s knife very closely resembles the wood handled paring knife my wife uses for peeling potatoes. It couln’t have been more that 6-1/2” inches from point to the handle’s butt.
I saw the knife too at the Alamo.
He didn’t use a Bowie Knife?”
Why would his knife be at San Jacinto? Makes no sense.
Great-great grandpa was scouting with cousins when they came upon a Mexican “peasant” after the Battle of San Jacinto and wanted to shoot him on the spot.
