Jody Foster is an experienced director. Her body of work includes:
Home for the Holidays (Budget $20 million, Box Office $17.5 Million)
The Beaver (Budget $21 Million, Box Office $6.4 Million)
I think those two films qualify as Box Office Flops.
A lot of budget money has never recovered.
The Beaver had a basic storyline as such: “A troubled husband and executive (Mel Gibson) adopts a beaver hand puppet as his sole means of communication.”
Both creative and dull.
I passed on it. It was good to see Mel Gibson get a movie role after years of being shut out of Hollywood.
I didn’t think casting Jodie Foster as Mel’s wife was believable.
