It does not stop your benefits or pension. Usually when someone is covicted of Criminal Misconduct the Prosecution insists they waive their pension. In the current case we will be lucky if anyone is ever charged.

fed employees generally can only lose their pension/benefits for treason...if convicted of crime with monetary fine their pension can be attached
