The back to school stuff seems to go out at the stores right after the July 4th stuff gets clearanced, and not long before the end-of-summer Labor Day cookout specials. I guess the way to fool ourselves is to observe the summer and winter solstices as “midsummer” and “midwinter”, even though the worse of winter is yet to hit us, and the heat of summer hasn’t yet started. Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, and summer’s lease hath all too short a date, blah blah blah. I love Shakespeare, other than all the cliches. /rimshot
