Satire or not, she has bought into a fundamental lie in American and indeed Western culture - this present iteration of which is absolutely bound in and trussed up with and held together only through webs of lies at every level.
Smart children are singled out early, and told the lie that they need the propaganda farms that we call colleges and universities. They are buried in debt, and their best, fertile years are wasted in sterile or decadent or even perverse academia, then jobs which are meaningless save for the income, which is largely compromised because of the debt for the fraudulent education.
Too late, they realize they bought into the lie of superficial, concensus success, and have paid for it with the irreplaceable coin of youth. They thus waste both their inheritance and their posterity. Now they might be able to produce a child or two, but no more. “Furbabies” and other inane surrogates are not the same. How does that career look when you are on the edge of barren, and alone?
Meanwhile, all too often, the barrel scrapings of our population breed like cockroaches and replicate more vermin which require more support - the fools who bought into the secular and elitist lies are milked to feed the roaches.
There are a few exceptions to this pattern, usually in religious based or regional subcultures, but for the secular majority these patterns are the norm.
