In 2011, life expectancy at birth was 78.7 years for the total U.S. population, 76.3 years for males, and 81.1 years for females.

Males don’t live as long (presumably because we’re married to females).

OK, you’re joking, but according to life tables, females have less of a chance of dying for every year of age, from 1 on up.

Guess the year of life for when both males and females have the least chance of dying.
