It looks real to me. He had to do the relays to setup the catch. The last bow probably was not a heavy compound bow. He could time his catch from the sound of the last arrow releasing. He could practice with a large blunt rubber point which would only cause a bruise if it hit his hand. Good trick!

What I find funny is he could snag the arrow out of flight, but he had a hard time picking up the bow.
