All that had been released up to the point at which Abercrombie said he wanted to release more, was the certificate of live birth. Abercrombie wanted to release more than that because, appearing as it did, first on DailyKos without attribution, all it did was raise more questions. But beyond the certificate of live birth, all Abercrombie’s “investigation,” turned up was ‘something actually written down in the archives.’
You keep ignoring the fact that he specifically said he would only do what he was legally authorized to do and he wasn’t going to ask for the necessary permission to release the birth certificate.
If the goal was to release more information why would he bother looking for something he could not release. His statement is only about things they might be able to release. And they found that in the archives. That does not mean they did not find things they could not release because of Hawaiian law.
