Why is “High Noon” not on the list and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”?
And “Roman Holiday”?

Because it's a list of the top 20 highest grossing films of the 1950's.

"High Noon" is #57, "Breakfast at Tiffany's" was made in 1961, and "Roman Holiday" is #73.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s came out in 1961.

I guess High Noon and Roman Holiday were not Top 20 at the box office, but both of them are very good films.

"High Noon" was a protest flick against the commie purge in Hollywood in the 50s. Gary Cooper represented the persecuted artist who stood all alone against McCarthyism.

Rio Bravo was the response to the "High Noon" propaganda. John Wayne and his sidekicks represented Hollywood patriots trying to do the right thing, but being castigated by communist influenced actors.

Knowing that, I definitely don't consider "High Noon" to be a great movie.
