I believe the Russians offered this plane a couple of years before.

I googled Beriev BP-200. El neato aircraft. Twin turbofans mounted high & to the rear to avoid spray.
Unlike our ill-fated Martin SeaMaster flying boat of the 1950’s.
Russians flew it to the Mediterranean to fight forest fires in Israel set by muzzies. So, Obama turned down their assistance in CA, another reason to hate that worthless jerk!
