I live in the NE side of San Antonio and I use telescopes and binoculars almost nightly when the weather permits and in almost every outing, I see something that I have to justify in my mind as only being satellites....except for when they appear to be zigging not exactly moving in a straight line.
Out in the desert near Quartzsite Arizona, I was stargazing and watched as Castor and Pollux “danced” in the sky.
Atmospheric effects can make things look very weird indeed.
