Wow...so hard to believe in this day and age, isn’t it?
I just got my first pneumonia shot ever after turning 66. I asked my Doc “Is this really necessary? and he said “I recommend it if you want to live. Pneumonia kills.” I thought he was exaggerating, but got the shot anyway. I’ve just gotten over a bad cold and will go get my flu shot tomorrow morning.
So sorry for this family and especially for her two young sons who will never know their Mom.
Pneumonia does kill, so do many types of the flu, and if you never had measles, have never gotten the shot to prevent getting it, measles can kill you too!
My uncle was 64 when he got what we thought was a cold in January. By February he was in the ER with pneumonia. By April he was dead.
Pneumonia killed my first wife. She was 37. Its nothing to be trifled with.
