Dershowitz: ‘You Cannot Charge a President With Obstruction for Exercising His Constitutional Power’!

Monday on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz batted down the merit of obstruction of justice charges aimed at President Donald Trump for what he said was exercising his constitutional power and authority regarding the firing of then-FBI Director James Comey and instructing the Department of Justice what to and not to investigate.
“If Congress were to ever charge him with obstruction of justice for exercising his constitutional authority under Article 2, we’d have a constitutional crisis,” he explained. “You cannot charge a president with obstruction of justice for exercising his constitutional power to fire Comey and his constitutional authority to tell the Justice Department who to investigate, who not to investigate. That’s what Thomas Jefferson did. That’s what Lincoln did. That’s what Roosevelt did. We have precedents that clearly establish that.”

Even though we might fundamentally disagree with Dershowitz on a good number of things, this is a really disturbing thing to see how this really about him not leaving the Democrats but more like the Democrats leaving him instead.
Since when has not knowing what she is talking about stopped her from speaking?

This is an absurd argument. The President can pardon himself— you knew that. How could The PREASIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES be charged with anything? He is the chief officer of the judicial department and all executive offices under the Constitution. How can the President as chief of the executive branch charge himself? These liberal are embarrassing themselves trying to believe their own Bull crap. The only remedy is impeachment. The removal of Trump on nothing will cause a bloody revolution. So these detractors can go straight to hell. We won!! Suck it up , Butter cup And it is just beginning.
Of course “collusion” with Russia was a bullshit charge used simply to provide cover for Hillary and open an investigation.
The ONLY things that has been proven to me in this process are
1) the Deep State exists. It is in a battle with Trump
2) the FBI, CIA, and NSA are the most politically corrupt agencies in Fed.gov. Given their immense power, the temptation for abuse is always there, and unfortunately, they have succumbed to this temptation, esp. under Obama.
3) Elections do not matter to America’s elites and bankers.
The Democrats are putting out this impeachment nonsense to fire up their base for the 2018 election.
I think they are talking Apple’s and oranges. She is making a political argument based upon hysteria and he a legal one based on precedent and the constitution.
