The No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes captured their first Big Ten championship since 2014 thanks to a 27-21 triumph over the No. 4 Wisconsin Badgers at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Saturday night. The win, which was buoyed by a slew of explosive plays from the Buckeyes' speedy skill position players, figures to incite tremendous debate among the College Football Playoff selection committee in advance of Sunday's final rankings reveal.
Nice for someone to mention OKLAHOMA. Thanks.
On this day, OKLAHOMA AND CLEMSON certainly stick their flag in spots one and two.
Georgia looks like #3 to me.
By now, I don’t really care who is number 4. The committee starts flipping coins for that spot, and those contenders do not look like the Top Three.
On this day.
No way OH ST should be picked after Iowa beat the crap out of them, plus 2 losses. What a joke.
It’ll be Georgia and Clemson vying for #1 spot
Ohio has 2 losses by double digits. Lost by 31 to Iowa...Iowa.
Why does WI even bother, they never win when it counts.
Make Alabama and Ohio State play a play-in game.
You cant pick OH ST over AL, no ...way... in....HELL. O St lost to Iowa, who lost 5 games. Iowa slaughtered them. Dont you ever mention OH ST and playoffs in the same sentence again.
Georgia looked strong today, huh. I would like to see Clemson vs OKLAHOMA. I haven’t seen Clemson play against a magic quarterback and would love to see that happen.
OKLAHOMA and Georgia were certainly still peaking today.
Heather girl on ESPN said that the Committee is not only looking at strength of schedule, but also the strength of schedule of those they defeated! Just amazing to me.
Then what’s his name, the blonde guy, said for spot #4 that the committee decision will be “heated” and may come down to which team is actually better. He would vote for Alabama, not Ohio State.
Actually hope so. Don’t want humiliated by Clemson again rather see that happen to Alabama. Plus with the Iowa beat down and Oklahoma loss at home we are not a top 4 team.
USC lost bigly to notre dame but lost to wash state...barely beat stanford...ucla...nah...good for them anyway. Maybe next year...
Alabama...average schedule...no championship...forget it...
ohio state...looked better than wisconsin ...but both teams looked slow and sometimes awkward...both passers were missing their targets....
But OSU did win the conf champ game...
IMHO....oklahoma...clemson....georgia..and OSU..
‘Bama vs usc in good bowl game is a fun game...
Penn state vs ucf sounds good..
TCU vs wisconsin sounds ok...
Stanford vs Auburn sounds alright..
Notre Dame vs washington sounds ok too.
The rest...well could be some good matchups (san diego state vs.miami?)but none of great significance.
Clemson looks quite impressive.
Losing by thirty is hard to forgive.
On the other hand, despite a pick-6 on the opening play, Ohio State recovered and were tied with Iowa until they lost two offensive linemen on consecutive plays, and Bosa on the following drive.
Hilarious to watch SEC bashers wax about too many losses
As an avid Buckeye fan, you are certainly entitled to your opinion, and I’m entitled to disagree with it. However, as a fan, I also have a few complaints against my team. Number 1: I think our QB, JT Barrett is overrated Way overrated. I personally believe the backup QB is better, but, Urban Meyer is he**bent that JT is da man, and can do no wrong. First of all, he’s a lousy passer, and will probable get drafted, but not as a QB. Possibly as a running back.
Number 2: Very seldom is there any razzle dazzle in the play calling. That drives me nuts!
But, I’ll always be a fan, win or lose.
OSU playing a QB that had knee surgery 6 days ago. If he was 100% it would not have been a game. OSU is the only team ranked in the top ten both offensively and defensively. Oh, and they didn’t need Mercer on the schedule in week 11 to do it.
“ntil they take the Power 5 Champions and add 5 at large champions it is a fake championship.”
Eight teams. 5 power conferences and 3 at large.
FSU was #2 before Bama derailed them. FSU then lost qb for season.
Osu lost 2. And one of those by 31 points.
Osu really doesn’t want to play Clemson again. It may be worse than the 31 point beat down from last year.
If bama had two losses and one was by 31 points, OSU fans would be saying they don’t deserve to go. I would agree.
Osu would have lost 4 games playing bama’s schedule.
TWO loses. Nope.
