Well, I’ll go you one better. “Most of my teachers carried battle-axes.”
True story: One of my science teachers had a hand grenade shell casting and a bayonet scabbard on his desk in front of us. We didn’t not to find out if they were loaded.
My seventh grade mathematics teacher was a Korean War vet and he had photos of some of the atrocities he had witnessed in a binder on his desk.
It did make for some very sober and quiet male students.
(We were never quite sure if he had “witnessed” or “committed” the said atrocities.)
