At 4:10, the Dartford, a freighter, is being towed by a tug. On June 12, 1942, while it was sailing in a convoy off the coast of Canada, Dartford was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-124, taking 30 of its crew of 47 down with it. U-124 was part of a "wolf pack" flotilla of submarines that attacked the convoy, sinking five additional ships.

In April, 1943, U-124 was attacked by a British surface ship and went down with all hands.

I did the same thing, tracking down the fates of those ships that I could identify. ‘Hobson’s Bay’ survived the war and was scrapped at Faslane in 1955.
