Right — it wasn’t the Cruz campaign. I believe it was Keep the Promise I, a pro-Cruz SuperPAC that made some very tough anti-Trump ads.
As you know, these PACs cannot coordinate with teh campaign.
The chair of Keep the Promise I was Kellyanne Conway.

As you know, that’s a joke—the kind of joke DC routinely makes at taxpayer’s expense.
‘GQ sales department confirmed Jeff Roe ordered the ad (Melania Trump)’
(I.e.: Jeff Roe, Cruz campaign manager, bought the rights to a nude Melania photo...and somehow, someway, it ended up in the hands of a Ted Cruz SuperPac.)
