Much cheaper to hire an airplane ... he can get a lot higher than 1800 feet that way.

Hell, here in Albuquerque, we're already between 5,000 and 6,500 feet, and then we have the Sandia Mountains due east of the city that rise from about 6,500 feet at the base to just under 10,700 feet at the peak. There's even a tram that goes from the base to near the peak for about $25. A tank of gas and a ticket up the tram will get him higher than his little rocket.

Gotta give the guy credit. He pretty much knows he is going to turn into soup the minute his rocket hits the ground and yet he still wants to get in it, light the candle and see how high he can go...... to see if mother erf is flat.

I bet when someone asks him, “what kind of idiot would do this?” he has no answer.
