I’m not for anybody who wants to declare themselves a religion to get out of paying tax. You have to draw a line. And that line excludes Scientology from being a religion.

Who decides what is an acceptable religion?

Better IMHO, that taxes be low, fair and fall equally on all, rich and poor, free and bond...

Who decides now? The only difference between a cult and a denomination is size. Some folks like to accuse atheism of being a religion, and there are a lot of atheists. But I don’t know of any atheist religious tax exemptions.
