Scientology is a cult, it is not a religion!
Granted the spiritual aspects have been vastly overshadowed by the lust for money* and power, but they are there buried at its core.

Absolutely correct. As a Canadian, not going to comment on laws, but it is a cult. Had a good friend die over medical issues totally related to decisions he made after consulting with CHURCH OFFICIALS” His 2 children and wife were left pennyless. Sadly, we have lost touch but last time I saw them it was a hot mess.
