Huh? Did you miss the video that accompanied the song she performed? She couldn’t even finish the song, she was in tears. Showed and named every victim of the Vegas shooting. Geesh
I watched the whole thing. The focus was entirely on her. Did you not see the hideous dress that was in tight focus throughout her performance? Even her ring echoed the awful decorations on her dress. Did you see the opening of the song? You couldn’t read the names of the people who were being honored. Eventually they came into focus but for the majority of the song it was all about her performance. I’ve seen people do this with the National Anthem where they make every trill about what they are doing with their vocal chords but showed no solemnity for the song. Come Home is a beautiful song, mournful and bittersweet but last night it was just another song sung by another “country” music performer. It was nice that they included it and the tribute but it was nothing more than a showcase for the songbird. Tears or no tears.
