Prior to the Sunday Night Football game against the Raiders and Dolphins, the Football Night in America crew on NBC discussed the Texans' sputtering situation at quarterback, with a couple analysts making the suggestion the team should pick up Colin Kaepernick.
With Deshaun Watson lost for the season due to a torn ACL, analysts Tony Dungy and Rodney Harrison called for the Texans to pick up Kaepernick, who has not played in an NFL game since Jan. 1 with the 49ers and has been the subject of controversy due to his decision to protest the national anthem as a response to police brutality toward people of color.
"Sign Colin Kaepernick. You don't have good quarterback play. When you have a mobile quarterback, your offense looks different. There is a mobile quarterback out there to get," Dungy said.
The analysts indicated that the Texans' offense cannot be successful with a traditional pocket passer like Tom Savage at the helm.
"I agree with you. As a player, I would lose all respect for my coaches and my organization if there was a guy out there that actually started a Super Bowl that is better than the guy that we have. How do you have confidence in your coach? How can you trust what your coach is trying to sell, the system that he is trying to sell, when he is not doing everything in his power to win football games?" Harrison added.

Any team who signs Kapernick will likely lose more fans than theyve already lost by allowing their current players to disrespect this country and those in our military and those who have given their all for all of us
THIS is why Trump is going to win re-election.
The Left overplays their hand, and alienates wide swaths of the public.
But instead of making a strategic course correction they DOUBLE DOWN. Because they KNOW they can’t POSSIBLY be WRONG!
Are you kidding? It's still going on. (Technically, after he was let go, another team did sign him, and after they let him go, I believe two other teams signed him and cut him.)
LOL!!!! As if Houston’s owner would agree. Not in a million years.
He’s a lightning rod/albatross imo. There may be teams whose fans would love that aspect. Detroit Lions?
Tim Tebow has revitalized minor league baseball by drawing huge, appreciative crowds.
Oh, so funny! Great post.
Have these idiots ever been to Texas?
Yes.
No, I’m not kidding. Name one public figure or sports commentator who pleaded for a team to sign Tim Tebow.
He went to New England for the pre-season, got cut, and the Jets picked him up ...
Or was that the Eagles ???
We’re overlooking the team in more dire need of a quarterback, the NY Giants. Eli’s already got the fork in him.
Worst QB to ever win a Super Bowl.
Full season with the Jets, used mainly as a wildcat formation QB. Then he was signed by the Pats, released after preseason. Same with Eagles the following year (or maybe two years later.)
Tebow was the anti-Kapernick - the public outcry was from the fans. There didn't really need to be pleading for him to be signed, because he got signed.
It’s a nice story, but he’s not likely to become a major-leaguer. Still, that’s OK. He’s pretty darned good for a guy who is 29 (?) and hasn’t played since high school (but that is a fairly extreme qualifier). If he wants to play and fans want to see him play and a team is willing to pay him to play, by all means, go have fun Tim.
Imagine the reception Kaepernick would get in Texas. What fools.
