When he slows back down to 160 mph it seems like he is just crawling along.

He’s still shifting gears at 220.

Man...you lose it at that speed and you’re in a world of hurt. For about 5 seconds.

The record may not last long. The Hennesy Venom F5 is due out and that is supposed to hit 300mph.

I bet there are not many tires which can handle that speed for long.

I know the Venom F5 is supposed to be faster. Maybe they had to do this before the F5 came out so they could hold the record for a short time.

His last shift was north of 225!

“When he slows back down to 160 mph it seems like he is just crawling along.”

That was when he moved back into the right line!

I did that road on a motorcycle. I looked down and saw I was going 90. I slowed way, way down.

These were commercial Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Michelin engineers were on site.

Pretty spectacular driver’s view. I just wonder how they were able to keep other drivers off the road even though it looks like it’s in the middle of nowhere.

I wonder how they set the tire pressures.

They probably blocked the road ahead. There was a helicopter ahead and to the right which probably kept an eye out, too.

I don’t think I would like to be a passenger in a car driven at 300mph by Wile E. Coyote.

Too accident prone.

Besides, ACME is not known as a quality car maker.

It’s a race! They took the title away from the Hennessey Venom GT.

The Venom set it on a NASA strip 3.2 miles long. Hennessey says they need a longer run next time but are wary of the problems of a public road.

I hope Nevada is getting their money’s worth!

I’ve done sustained 140 MPH on German Autobahns in a Mercedes and was nervous as hell. This is TWICE that fast!
