“His theory involves the use of a regular external ramp to build the first 30% of the pyramid, with an “internal ramp” taking stones up beyond that height...”
Fascinating theory, only 1,200 views. Jean-Pierre Houdin’s research reveals the probable method, if not the purpose. A practical solution from the POV of an architect.
Thanks FN. There’s another older documentary (more like the usual approved narrative type) that has popped up on YouTube, there are multiple versions, I’ve got to hunt it up (I saw it on Roku first) and d/l it before the clean version and the rest vanish. Y’know, because if there’s anything YT doesn’t tolerate, it’s copyright violations! /sarc
Also see this one from last year:

and, the one theory that remains compatible with all others as well as all evidence:

My pleasure!
I think he’s mostly correct (nice of me, eh?), but I think the ramp used to slide up those big granite chunks also still exists, after a fashion, internal to the side opposite the Grand Gallery, and was filled in after the heavies got moved. That doesn’t negate the spiral ramp system, since 89% of the mass of the pyramid lies below the halfway point for height.
This new void appears to echo the Grand Gallery, but is of shorter length. Wouldn’t surprise me if it turns out to *be* an echo, but could also turn out to be another counterweight system. J-P has noted that there are corbelled rooms off the King’s Chamber, and below this newly discovered void, but those don’t appear to have been detected.
