COLUMBUS (WCMH) A Columbus teen is out of the hospital after he was robbed and beaten unconscious, all because of a pair of shoes.
13-year-old Aiden Winter said he was so excited to buy his first pair of Air Jordan Sons of Mars shoes. Aiden bought the shoes three months ago, after working to mow grass in summer.
This past Sunday, Aiden, his sister and friend were walking to the store in west Columbus when he saw who he thought was an old friend.
When I walked over there, he was like, Hey I like your shoes, Aiden said. He asked if they were real and I said yes.
Thats when Aiden said the boy and nine others started to attack him.
They started kicking me and punching me, he said. All I heard was my sister say, Dont take it, dont take it [the shoes].
Aidens mother, Erika Winter, said the attackers punched and kicked him until he was unconscious, and then they kept punching and kicking him until someone called the police.
Perfect opportunity for English teachers to point out the real world advantages of literacy... 13 year old would have known his dream shoes would be coveted by the neighborhood thugs, happens all the time, people get killed for “stuff”.
We can take solace in the fact that the lowlife who is now chicken strutting around in the stolen shoes has reached the high point of his worthless life. Within a year or two he will be incarcerated, or better yet, dead by gunfire or drug overdose.
Funny thing, he's 6'2” and didn't even consider throwing a punch in time to defend himself.
He does not live in a neighborhood like that where he expected that would happen and in his home, never heard language or anything at all to give him a heads up about 'thugs' It was all new to him.
He was with his two friends (both smaller than him, by far) and took that f’n beating over a coat.
BTW-He spent months at the local driving range/golf course shagging balls to earn enough money for the coat.
He got HIS lesson more dramatically than any of us could have explained to him. He's real clear on things... NOW
Correction ....3 handed my nephew a beat down at the mall-for a ‘Bulls’ jacket coat he was wearing.
OH MY Almost had a coffee-spew-on-monitor incident here. LOL
Paging, Walt Kowalski, you are needed in Columbus, Ohio!
Lesson: White kids should not buy Air Jordans.
Oh and don’t trust Black “friends.”
In the south, holder’s D O J implemented a series of programs to eliminate the “school to jail pipeline” a rhetorical system southern states had in place to send youths to prison to make the prison owner’s rich( contract prisons such as Wackenhut and other facilities that are contracted to provide incarceration) In fact last week the Meridian Star had a small ad in the business notices that there was a meeting of the police, mayor and the “public” to discuss the city’s compliance with the mentioned “Pipeline to Prison” federal guidelines.
Since this series of sentencing guidelines and set asides began, the youth crime in our city has skyrocketed. And nothing is done about it. In a realistic world, one would hope the meeting is being held to tell the population of the city that our black mayor, police chief, and other officials would be ignoring the guidelines of Barry’s A.G But as I am living in this mental state of reality, I go out armed most of the time,12 gauge in the yard at night or handgun in city. Situational awareness and electric fence chargers are the order of the day. Don’t have a big screen and do have 2 dogs.Check on older neighbors daily. Sad times
Just checking
If it really was an old friend, why aint he in the hoosegow squealing on his homies?
If he was my kid and if it indeed was his “friend”, his friend if he were alive would be picking nine pellets out of his worthless gut.
Sounds like South Africa, where razor wire and bars are everywhere.
Stay safe.
.
And what is the actual profit on those shoes? Americans can be so stupid.
Columbus, OH. Yes.
He wa almost certainly at a school with a large population of Somali inbreds, I mean immigrants, strike that, refugees. Regardless, all people are better than the White Devil.
Who says he needed them. He wanted them. He wanted them bad enough to work all summer for the money to buy them. They were his.
When my son was a boy, a neighbor kid stole his pocket knife. When we talked to the parents, they justified their kids behavior by saying our son didnt need the knife, because he was too young. Never mind that their son was actually younger. It doesnt matter if he needed it or not. It was his.
“I learned in the Navy that blacks might be friends in a mixed environment but when they get together its best to stay away.”
Your experience is the same as mine.
Classic liberal thinking that seeks to rob from those who WORKED for something, so that those who just “want” something don’t feel deprived.
You and I are concentrating on two entirely different issues here.To me it was so obvious that those kids had no right to steal them that I didn't even comment on that point.I'm just saddened....even stunned...that a 13 year old kid would want $120 sneakers, regardless of who paid for them.
Yes,I guarantee you that we're in agreement regarding the theft. But my comments may just be an indication that you and I see life...and 13 year old kids...a little differently.
9 votes (heck, maybe 18) for whoever the Dem Presidential candidate is in 2020.
Air Jordan Sons of Mars..... :o)
how do you guess ?
