Spot on! I don't know why folks aren't pointing out the hypocrisy. California leadership is whining about this proposal when they have never let me deduct federal income taxes. That's a tax on a tax too.

Maybe the deduction should be reciprocal--if a state allows federal income tax deduction, then the feds will allow it for filers from that state. :-)
