NFL players are free to take a knee. She was free to say whatever she wanted. The difference is that in one case the employer doesn't take action against the employee and in the other case they do.

Only way to call this “inappropriate” or “Racist” is to admit that most of the offenders are Black....the fact that this type statement has become “taboo” in our society is reason to be very afraid because it means they are still winning if they can exert harmful pressure on anyone who does this.
The way I see it she was punished with loss of 10 days pay by being forced to work and not being paid for 5 days. She needs a lawyer to get paid.
