The normalization of obesity is dangerous to physical and emotional health, and to our wallets.
When I glance a little too long at an obese person I am not judging her appearance but, sadly, envisioning her medical future - diabetes, heart disease, trouble breathing, early death. And then I get a little torqued knowing that my tax dollars will go to pay for her medical care and disability.
