The normalization of obesity is dangerous to physical and emotional health, and to our wallets.

When I glance a little too long at an obese person I am not judging her appearance but, sadly, envisioning her medical future - diabetes, heart disease, trouble breathing, early death. And then I get a little torqued knowing that my tax dollars will go to pay for her medical care and “disability”.

We were invited to a wedding by some distant relatives of my (skinny as a rail) wife—I had never met them.

It turns out both are morbidly obese—when they tried to kiss it was like rhinos trying to make love—it was nearly impossible.

I kept thinking—how long are these people going to live carrying those hundreds of extra pounds...

Couldn’t get out of there fast enough...
