General Kelly had the credibility of his own loss to speak about the sacredness of that moment when the next of kin are informed of their loss. He told about how shocked to hear Rep. Frederica Wilson’s (D- Fla.) distortion and politicization of that sacred moment between the President and the wife, Myeshia Johnson. General Kelly, who was actually present when President Trump made the call, told President Trump, in advance how, he would make such a condolence call; recalling how he was informed about his own son’s death.

Frederica Wilson’s comments so troubled General Kelly, that he took a walk though what he believed, was the most sacred place in the land, Arlington Cemetery. That sacredness must be preserved between the families of the fallen and those representatives of the Armed Forces who communicate to them their condolence.

General Kelly made it clear that the effort to breach the sacred connection between the Gold Star families and the Armed forces, including the President, are a danger to our nation.

Anyone who has NOT had the misfortune to experience it first hand, really should see the movie "Taking Chance". Very respectful and very well made, IMHO. Those of you who have experienced it ... My hat is off to you. May God grant you peace, where no one else can.
