This seems like the very definition of a pathological liar.
Invent a story that is WAY too complicated and incompatible with what the public knows about your physical condition, and just dare people to dispute it.

Occam's Razor would say, “I'm a fat drunk with bad balance and broke my ankle.”

Although as some have said, the whole thing may be fictitious. Time will tell how fast she recovers from her supposed trauma, if a social opportunity presents itself.
