A female friend of mine went on a foreign business trip early in her career with two colleagues who were both male, married, and senior to her at the company. After dinner with a client, hours after she had retired to her room, around 1 a.m., one of her coworkers knocked on her hotel door and asked if she would come out for a drink. She declined. After another hour, around 2 a.m., the other coworker knocked on her door. When she opened it a crack, he tried to push his way into her room. She fought him off. All three still work together.

Ok, this one is just unreasonable. What will I say, if not this?
One for each of Obama's states.
Awesome. Good for you and I agree. I did kind of the same as you. I act like a conservative too (it’s who I am) and my wife is a lot more left of center but she still went out with me. Oddly, she seems to agree with a lot of my values.
The “smile” thing was really irritating! I once was on a crowded elevator at work when some idiot screamed it into my face. There are a lot of dummies out there.
Marilyn Monroe, who knew a thing or two about men, once said that men only like “happy girls.” She was right.
Darn right! I don't know how many times those old nags in the accounting and payroll dept. used to call me "honey"........I just bit my tongue and put up with it.
What’s wrong with saying “I like the blonde?” It’s EXACTLY what the blonde was going for! Political correctness is a scourge.
Let’s just go full Muzzie and separate men and women.
Well, he was quite young, so I have a feeling it did indeed make an impression. We tend to remember being ashamed. But for the most part, yes, the 1980s were kind of an unpleasant time to be in the military, from a female point of view. Not a day went by that men didn’t inform me how they felt about my hair, my body, my looks in general, and express an interest in my sex life, my bodily functions, what underwear I might be wearing, etc. It really seemed like they were as obsessed as Arabs about it. Watching MAD MEN really brought back memories. I don’t miss that, and I’m glad to see that today’s culture is a little less likely to produce men who pant like dogs after every skirt.
Another time a fellow said, "You'd look better if you grew your hair out." I said, "You'd look better if you lost about 30 lbs." Boy, that one cleared the room. LOL!
They maybe gentler, but most are now perpetual boy’s.
just a little less likely! :)
Those are great replies! I wish some of the guys on FR would post their photos when they complain that women get fat in middle-age, lol!
What most guys like the ones you describe don’t know is their behavior is like being in a prison.
They HAVE to look at EVERY woman that passes near to them. They HAVE to mentally undress and assess what they see. They HAVE to ascertain what their chances are, what the woman’s situation is and how they can draw out the next cheap thrill. I’m a guy, I’ve been there, it really is a prison.
there is NOTHING wrong with it... IF you have no “intention” behind it.
This isn’t hard people !
ASK yourself this... would MOST of those things on that list be OK if a GAY man said it to a woman co-worker ?
of course!
and WHY is that? because there is no INTENTION behind it !
If you actually LIKE someone, are attracted to them, want to date them, go out with them, ect... then MOST of those things are NOT OK !
If however you are NOT sexually attracted to someone, dont want to date them, or go out with them, ect... then MOST of those things are perfectly ok for one FRIEND to say to another FRIEND.
Get it?
The only thing worse for a women getting unwanted attention from men is not getting that attentions.
I guess what we wish is that you wouldn’t drag us into your prison with you. We have our own problems.
White Privilege...
Bushes Fault!
No, I’m in my 50s now and that attention has gone away, and I can tell you, it is a relief. Now I just get treated like a co-worker, not a moving target.
I personally don’t like to interact with anyone (male or female) who doesn’t smile.
I avoid them like the plague.
If it is such a relief then explain the cosmetic industry to me? Yo would think women would want to look plainer, maybe wear burkas?
