It was likely the same coalition of Cuban exiles, mob members, and CIA officers who had conspired to eliminate Fidel Castro. Many of the circumstantial leads, and indeed confessions of guilt, still stem from that direction.
As with our recent massacre in Las Vegas, the authorities were instantly proclaiming the lone gunman’s guilty from the outset, purposefully ignoring inquiries into any other possibilities. Again, the public and even the media have begun to question the timelines, evidence and earnest attempt at a solid investigation.
For JFK, the evidence of a conspiracy remains circumstantial and problematic since many people and groups had a strong motive to kill him. Plus there is the added dilemma of separating acts of the coverup from the actual conspiracy to assassinate.
