You are right, it's only liberals. My family came to America at the turn of the century from Czechoslovakia (Dad's side) and Sweden (Mom's). We never owned slaves and they were dirt poor. My paternal grandfather was a butter-and-egg delivery person and also broke horses at the Chicago stockyards; my paternal grandmother worked 40 hours a week at city hall in Chicago and then spent her evenings washing the kitchen floor on her hands and knees; my dad was the first one in the family to go to college.
