I’ve seen it go a step further.
The token cancels/reschedules the meeting. And the knowledgeable person finds out it’s still in the offing in the near future. And they’re still expected to perform
That is certainly a good way to evade, providing there is time to do so. When they are quarterly meetings to which people travel, and the token gets the word “morning of”, there is no such defense.
