Does that speak to how a defendant could be possibly be wrongfully convicted --- or what???

Jurors under their own financial pressures pitted against some number (maybe even only one) holdout (either for, or against conviction) and either of those pitted also against some number of jurors who signal they are willing to work at it for a whole month if that's what it takes.

That "whole month" type of claim, I think I've seen before. Most of the time it only lasts a few hours, but can stretch for a while longer.
